Clearwater Basin Youth Conservation Corps Crew Members (seasonal) (32 openings)
Position Summary: The Clearwater Basin Youth Conservation Corps (CBYCC) is now accepting applications for our 8-week, paid summer work program. As a CBYCC crew member, you will work on a team with other area youth to gain skills and knowledge to prepare you for a career in natural resources. In this job you will spend your summer out in the woods working with partners from multiple agencies and organizations. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to earn while you learn and be part of a team working to enhance and protect our natural resources. Crews will be based out of Grangeville, Kamiah/Kooskia, Orofino, Pierce, and Potlatch.
We will also be hiring 2 youth to assist at the Forest Service Ranger Stations in Kamiah and Potlatch. These Frontliners will greet the public, answer questions, and perform other administrative tasks as assigned.
Youth ages 16 to 18 may apply for these Field Crew and Frontliner positions.
Please note that this is not a residential program. Youth are responsible for their own housing and transportation to and from the muster location each day.
Compensation and Work Schedule: CBYCC Crew Members and Frontliners are paid up to $2,320 for 8 weeks of full-time work ($7.25/hr). Field crews typically will work 6 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday each week, and Frontliners will typically work 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Employment begins June 12, 2019 and ends August 6, 2019.
